Intensive English Book Scholarship
Award is distributed to students enrolled full or part-time in Wichita State University's Intensive English Language Program and covers the cost of an eligible student's books.
Awards are eligible for renewal only once.
Award eligibility:
Meet and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Be in the second session or higher in the on-campus Intensive English Language Program
Not a recipient of the Global Select Scholarship
Undergraduate Scholarships After Attending Wichita State
International students wishing to enroll at Wichita State University (WSU) for undergraduate or graduate study must meet certain eligibility requirements. In general, official transcripts, evidence of financial assistance, and English competence are required of international students. Depending on the course of study and whether the application is for an undergraduate or graduate school, different prerequisites apply.
Undergraduate Admission:
Academic Requirements:
A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or international equivalent) is generally recommended. However, SAT or ACT scores can be submitted for consideration if the GPA is below the minimum.
English Proficiency:
International students must demonstrate English language proficiency through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo, or by completing a certain level of English language coursework.
Required Documents:
Applicants must submit a completed application form, application fee, official transcripts, and proof of financial support.
Graduate Admission:
GPA Requirements:
GPA requirements for graduate admission vary by program, typically ranging from 2.75 to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
3-Year Bachelor's Degrees:
Some graduate programs accept 3-year bachelor's degrees, but students need to apply to determine if their specific degree is accepted.
English Proficiency:
Similar to undergraduate admissions, international graduate students must also demonstrate English language proficiency.
Program-Specific Requirements:
Graduate programs may have additional requirements such as GRE scores, statement of purpose, a resume, and writing samples.
General Requirements for All International Students:
Medical Insurance: All international students are required to purchase or have comparable medical insurance that meets WSU's requirements.
Tuberculosis Testing: International students need to undergo tuberculosis testing upon arrival in Wichita.
SEVIS Registration: F-1 and J-1 visa holders must check in with SEVIS each semester.
Passport Validity: International students must maintain a valid passport at all times.
